We imagine you probably have some questions about your garage door or some of its different parts. If you do, then you've come to the right place. Take a look at the following FAQs to find the answers our experts provided.
How should I wash my garage door?
You can usually wash a steel garage door with a piece of cloth or a sponge and some clean water. If necessary, you can use a mild detergent. Don't use a power washer if your door's paintwork won't be able to withstand it. Check your owner's manual to be certain. Remember to clean the area first with a dry rag to prevent dirt and mud from accumulating afterwards.
Why do springs last less than other parts?
The springs have a very important job, which is to support and counterbalance the weight of the panels. That means they are under a tremendous amount of stress every single day, which only stands to reason why they may not be able to last for as long as some of the other parts. With proper maintenance, however, your garage door springs will last longer than they would without it, so you should invest in having your door serviced on a regular basis.
Why is lubrication maintenance so important?
The mechanical parts of any garage door system need to be lubricated regularly in order to ensure they're able to move smoothly. If they don't receive this type of maintenance, friction will make them grow noisier over time, and they will end up wearing out far quicker, which will lead to more serious problems later on.
